tony gonzalez-5-1024x1024Anthony David Gonzalez was conceived in Torrance on February 27, 1976. He grew up in the southern part of California and attended Huntington Beach High School where he was a top player on both the basketball and football teams. Gonzalez excelled at these sports at University of California, Berkeley. He was the team's football coach to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. Here, he tied the record for school bowls with nine receptions. Gonzalez later led the basketball team to Sweet 16 in the NCAA basketball tournament a few weeks after. After graduating from highschool Gonzalez was selected in the 1997 NFL Draft. Gonzalez was selected as the 13th overall selection by the Kansas City Chiefs. Gonzalez was a player for the Chiefs from 1997 until 2008. Gonzalez was transferred to the Atlanta Falcons. After Gonzalez's first NFL year, he was able to catch not less than 59 of them per season.
